Lily

Lilly is a sweet angel of cat with a history of inappropriate elimination. Her owner was finally at her wit's end and brought her to her the veterinarian to have Lilly euthanized. The vet staff had treated Lilly for years and were extremely fond of this friendly and loving girl. They were desperate to avoid ending Lilly's life and called Tabby's Place to see if we could help.

We agreed to put Lilly on our waiting list. After several months, we were able to take her in.Lilly had chronic diarrhea from the day she entered Tabby’s Place. Her previous medical records revealed that this had been going on for some time.

We finally determined that Lillyhas inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IBD describes a group of chronic gastrointestinal disorders, characterized by inflammation of the digestive tract. The cause of IBD is unknown, but many researchers suspect that it is an auto-immune disease. Lilly1.jpgWe have had great success in controlling IBD with the prescription diet that is often used for diabetic cats.We started Lilly on that diet and to our delight it has been very effective in alleviating her symptoms. We feed this specific diet in our Special Needs Suite, which currently houses a diabetic (Amstel) and several cats with IBD.Lilly2.jpgAs you can see, Lilly is adorable, with her orange tabby markings and white bib and accents. She loves people and gets along well with other cats.

Thus far, Lilly has consistently used the litter boxes in her suite. But given her history of inappropriate elimination and her disease, we know Lilly's chances of adoption are greatly reduced. Please sponsor Lilly and help us to give her the care she deserves.
