Hootz

Hootz

Oh, the perils of being a cat. Some time ago in Hootz’s young life, she suffered spinal damage that left her tail essentially paralyzed.Hootz ended up in an animal shelter, where her damaged tail was removed. If this were the whole story, darling little Hootz would probably be in a forever home by now.

But her spinal damage had another, more serious, effect: Hootz is unable to control her rectal muscles. As a rsult, when she goes to the bathroom, she essentially just “fires at will”.She has also been prone to bouts of diarrhea, making her condition all the more difficult. The folks at the animal shelter didn’t see adoption in the future for a cat with these problems, and so Hootz found a home at Tabby’s Place.Hootz1.jpgAfter a lot of experimentation, we have found a combination of prescription food and medication that has eliminated her diarrhea (while she remains “messy”, cleaning up solid stool is much better than dealing with diarrhea).Hootz2.jpgAs you can see, little “Hootie” is an especially cute young (one year) tabby girl.Like any youngster, Hootz is bubbling with tremendous energy! She is always excited to play and leap around, is a ‘chatterbox’ of meows, and soaks up attention like a grateful sponge. She loves to be held and will jump up on you for affection, even if she’s never met you before. With her adorable face and stunning coat, she is as beautiful as she is sweet.

We are quite enamored of this little cat and very happy that we can provide sanctuary for her. Because Hootz is just a kitten and has such a delightful personality, we are hopeful that a patient and loving adopter will fall in love with her, as we have. But we know that her rather messy condition greatly reduces her chances. Your generous monthly sponsorship helps us to provide little Hootie with the care, affection, and extra staff time she needs and deserves.
