Heather

Heather is an affectionate girl, probably born early in 2006. She’s a knockout of a tortoiseshell, with black “socks” on her hind legs, a black chin, and a black face and nose; the remainder of her coat is a lovely mottled combination or orange, buff, brown, and black. Heather is missing her right front leg, but we don’t know what happened to cause that, though we can tell it was not a recent occurrence in her life. Heather has put on quite a bit of weight since she came to us, and she’s now on the chunky side.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Heather is how nice a cat she is. She’s never shown the least bit of ill nature, not even when we got her and our medical team was checking her out for the first time. She must have been confused, if not alarmed, by the transition, but all she did was purr. She loves attention and, if you pet her, her butt will immediately go up in the air and she’ll rub on you and burst into a big purr.

Amazingly, Heather gets around beautifully in our lobby, even jumping up onto furniture without a problem. With her great personality, she’s captured many hearts in the short time she’s been here. Will yours be the next?
