Poor Cookie was simply abandoned at an animal shelter. While we were lucky to have room for her, she remains quite frightened. She’s a medium-to-large size black and white female, with a cute black patch over one eye, white whiskers, green eyes, and a pink nose. More recently, Cookie has become friendlier toward us, and will sometimes rub against a volunteer or put out her neck to be scratched; she’s also begun taking cat treats from us. She will need a very quiet environment, however, without dogs or small children.

Update: Cookie is now in our weight management suite, and is slowly regaining her girlish figure. She likes the change to a room with fewer cats, and has shown this by becoming much better with people. She’ll frequently come up for attention now, and loves a good “skritch” on either side of the neck. This is great progress for Cookie and we hope to see her continue to become more social with people.
