Beta

Beta is our current Momcat-in-residence (her little ones, Guppy, Minnow, and Flounder, are all ready for adoption). You might wonder about cats being given fish names until I tell you that our Sanctuary Manager actually crawled through a storm drain to rescue this cat and her litter!

Beta is a beautiful calico, with a good deal of black in her coat. She has a white nose, muzzle, chin, and neck, and orange scattered throughout her coat. We believe she was born around April of 2009, and she’s a healthy girl as far as we can determine.

Although Beta adores other cats, she’s extremely shy with people. Right now (early July, 2010), only some people at Tabby’s Place can touch her, but then she is relatively new to us. Because of her shyness, for the time being we suggest that she go to home without small children. It’s our hope though that Beta will gradually calm down when she realizes she can trust us.
