FeLV+

Meet Kiki, a striking black-and-white girl with unique black spots on her nose and a black chin. She is just beginning to find her footing at the sanctuary. Newly arrived and still a little nervous, she’s the kind of cat who watches the world carefully before deciding to join it. But make no mistake, the curiosity is there. She’s been exploring her suite with real interest, and the people who’ve taken things slowly, moving gently and letting her set the pace, have been rewarded: Kiki has welcomed their gentle pets and clearly enjoyed the attention.

Her shyness isn’t her whole story. Rescued from life outdoors, Kiki spent three years in a loving foster home where she bonded deeply with her person — so deeply that the recent transition to the sanctuary has been hard on her. When her foster came to visit, she melted into affection, a glimpse of the devoted, loving companion she becomes once she feels safe. That’s the Kiki waiting to emerge again. With a patient adopter and a calm, quiet home, there’s every reason to believe she’ll blossom into a tender and bonded friend.

Kiki is FeLV+, which means she’ll do best as an only cat or in a home with other FeLV+  cats. She’s good with other felines and would settle happily into either arrangement. FeLV+ cats can live full, content lives with attentive care, and the Tabby’s Place staff are happy to talk through what that looks like for anyone considering opening their home to her.

Kiki doesn’t need a crowd. She needs one steady, gentle person willing to earn her trust. For that someone, she has a great deal of love to give. Could that be you? Fill out an online adoption questionnaire today!
