Tender-hearted Tommy traveled a rough road to Tabby’s Place. He arrived from a Philadelphia shelter with a badly injured leg that required amputation. Then, his tail developed an infection and had to be removed as well. Tommy has recovered well from his surgeries, and he has no long-term health issues. However, his experiences have turned him into a bit of a wallflower who prefers to observe visitors from a safe, cozy distance.
For now, Tommy spends much of his time hiding. Sometimes, he appears sad or scared, but he is simply overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of his new environment. Tommy’s sensitive soul has endured so much that he has withdrawn to protect himself from further hardship. However, once Tommy realizes he’s safe, his gentle nature shines through, and he has started to accept some loving pats.
Beneath Tommy’s shy exterior is a resilient survivor waiting for a quiet, peaceful home. There—with someone who understands that the best things in life require time and patience—Tommy has the potential to truly come out of his shell. He also gets along with other cats and would thrive in a multi-cat household.
