In 1933, the famous author and satirist Dorothy Parker coined the word “scaredy-cat” in her story, “The Waltz.” The world has been using this coy expression to poke a little fun at fearfulness ever since.

Lily is a beautiful tabico lady, but unfortunately, she doesn’t often let us look at her. Our timid little tiger Lily can usually be found huddled in the tube our cats travel to reach their sunroom or at the top of the ramp in her living space. Lovely Lily came to us from a private home, but she has taken the transition to shelter life quite hard. She is very scared of people, and typically only comes out of the safety of the tube at night.

Call our girl shy and skittish – yes, she is easily frightened and runs for cover at the sight of even one of the oh-so-many people who create the hustle and bustle that is part of Tabby’s Place daily life. Lily is a softie, a snowflake, a cream puff who prefers observing all our goings-on from her hidey-hole – her scaredy-cat corner, if you will. However, we believe that in a quiet home with one compassionate Lily-loving person, this timid tabico just may come out of her shell. Also, Lady Lily does like other cats and would do well in a multi-cat household.

Will you be the patient, gentle hero that dares to come to this fearful feline’s rescue? Can you offer Lily the safety and solitude she needs to be truly and happily loved? Fill out an adoption application today!
