FeLV+, behavior issue

The cats voted, and it was unanimous: Tucker is the Happiest Cat at Tabby’s Place.

You might not expect this from his history. A diagnosis of feline leukemia virus (FeLV) left him homeless and hopeless. No sooner did this cookies-and-cream comedian find a haven at Tabby’s Place, than tragedy struck again. Tucker developed lymphoma, and chemotherapy would be his only hope of survival. But this lithe and leggy legend is immune to self-pity and resistant to regret. Tucker sailed through his cancer treatments, and today he’s galloping into the future like a giddy goofball.

Tucker is a tad too goofy for some. Our rough-and-tumble survivor’s zest can tip over into aggression if he’s overstimulated. He will need a patient adopter who can respect his boundaries and work with him when that intergalactic energy takes over.

Our Tucker adores playing “rugby” with exuberant cats (especially his best friend Oram), but he can overwhelm mellow feline neighbors. He will thrive in a home with another energetic FeLV+ cat and/or smitten humans willing to play with him frequently.

If Tucker looks as sturdy as a silverback, you’re not seeing things. He’s lovable, living proof that cats with FeLV can be strong and hearty, even after great adversity. Do you have the heart and home for a happy-go-lucky comedian? Tucker might be just the wonderful whirlwind to sweep you off your feet.
