Arowana arrived on our doorstep unexpectedly with 16 of her family members on April 1st 2021 (It may have been April Fools’, but this is no joke)! This clan of all black cats was living outside on a rental property and being fed by a kind couple when the landowner decided that all of the cats needed to go! Luckily, Arowana and her family were able to come to Tabby’s Place and get a glimpse of the cozy indoor life. All of the fish-clan are all doing well and are now looking for their own homes!
Arowana arrived with a fellow momma, Mahi Mahi, (who was likely her adult daughter) as well as the joint litters of 10 babies total! Arowana and Mahi Mahi were very nervous at first, having been moved from their comfortable home to a strange new shelter with their delicate, tiny newborns, but were still very sweet and allowed us to care for their big family.
After weaning her own little ones, Arowana became a mother once again by adopting four orphaned newborns! Arowana immediately accepted the Bread Bunch (Focaccia, Ciabatta, Pumpernickel, and Brioche) and reared them as if they were her own babies! Now, they are off and ready for their own homes and Arowana is ready to hang up her mantel of Ultimate Momma and become an Ultimate Spoiled Housecat.
After all her years of having babies, Arowana is ready to rest and enjoy the freedom she missed out on in her kittenhood! Arowana loves people and attention and will chirp to let you know she wants pets. She is very playful just like any young cat and has lots of energy. After living her entire life in a colony with her family, she would treasure the opportunity to be adopted into a home with another cat! Arowana thrives when she has a feline buddy to play and hang out with.
