Harlem is a handsome gentleman who was unfortunately returned to us recently due to his owner’s failing health. After living almost his entire life in the comfort of his home, the return to a shelter has been a little stressful for him. He has been very happy to receive any attention to anyone who is willing to pay attention to him and has shown himself to be very social and outgoing. He loves to be held and just wants to love and be loved. We are happy that Harlem still has such a happy, resilient spirit even after this rough turn of events in his life.
Harlem is a gentle boy with people, but he would absolutely treasure a home to his own with no other felines. He is accustomed to having a home of his own and doesn’t like when other cats are around. He would love to be an only cat where he can receive all the love he desires.
This older gentleman is healthy other than a large, fatty mass on his chest. Right now, we do not think surgery to remove this non-cancerous growth is necessary, as it isn’t currently affecting his health. He will need to have regular check-ups with a vet to ensure that he continues to be healthy and that the mass does not grow. Other than monitoring this issue, however, there is no treatment needed at this time.
