Amy has had a run of bad luck over the past few years, but we are hoping her fortune will be changing soon!
Amy and another cat had been the cherished pets of a family for some time, but the other cat passed away in 2017. Her family had intended to keep Amy, but her human brother’s medical needs unfortunately necessitated her departure from the only home she had every known. Luckily, she ended up at Tabby’s Place through our Exceptional Circumstances Program and has been a treasured addition to our ranks so far.
Perhaps because she lived with another cat for years, Amy has been fine with her feline suitemates. She can be a little feisty towards people, as she was originally very stressed to have left the comfort of her home for an unfamiliar shelter. If you approach her calmly and quietly, she can be sweet and will allow some gentle head pats, but the attention she receives is on her terms. She is beginning to show her more relaxed side and can often be found lounging in our of our cubbies, happy to watch the other cats romp and play.
Amy does not demand constant interaction with people, she might be a good fit for someone with a busy schedule who just wants someone to come home to at the end of a long day. If that sounds like you, come in to meet her and see if you’re a good match. You can meet Amy and her friends any day from 12 to 5PM!
