The ancient Chinese poet Cao Zhi once said, “Of all the plants in the world, the lotus flower is the most unique.” It’s fitting then that Lotus is the name of our rare, marmalade madame (only one in five ginger cats is female!). This extraordinary beauty came to us all the way from Beirut. A young mama, Lotus was unable to find a home in Lebanon, and she faced an uncertain future. After a 36-hour flight, this feline flower made it to Tabby’s Place, where we know she’ll soon meet her forever human companion.

In Eastern cultures, lotus flowers are treasured for their ornamental value, as well as their ability to adapt to many environments. Lotus is not only an unusual vision in vermillion, this precious kitty is also eager to start her new life on American soil. (She hears it’s all giant portions of gravy and extra treats, and she’s probably right.) Lotus is ready to be spoiled, but also to bring a sense of zen to her permanent home. Come meet Lotus and see if this sweetheart will bloom for you.
