Please note: We are located in central New Jersey.
Thank you for opening your heart and your home to a cat from Tabby’s Place. Our cats have found sanctuary here because they were once in hopeless situations. By adopting, you’ll make space for us to save more cats in need.
For an adoption fee of $150, you will take home a cat that has received the very best medical care and evaluation. Every cat that leaves Tabby’s Place has been:
- thoroughly examined by a veterinarian
- spayed/neutered
- vaccinated
- microchipped
- tested for FeLV and FIV
- treated for parasites
The Adoption Process
- Submit an online adoption questionnaire below. This helps us learn more about you and match you with a cat(s) who is a good fit. After you submit the questionnaire, one of our adoption counselors will reach out to you via email within 24-48 hours.
- Reference check: We check one reference for all of our adopters. If you have used a vet in the last 4 years, please include their information on your questionnaire. If you have not used a vet in the last 4 years, you will be prompted to include the information of a personal reference (cannot be a family member or significant other) instead.
- Adoption meeting: Meet with cat(s) in person or virtually. If you find a cat who’s a good fit, we’ll review your application and the cat’s medical history with you.
- Pay adoption fee & schedule pickup date: During or after the adoption meeting, we will schedule a time for you to come back to pick up your new cat. You can pay the adoption fee online or in person at pickup.
- Pick up cat & sign adoption contract: At this time, we will review and finalize the adoption contract with you, as well as provide you with samples of your new cat’s food and any medications.
- Follow ups: After you take your cat(s) home, one of our volunteers will follow up with you at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months post-adoption to see how your new cat is doing and answer any questions you may have. We are always available to support you and your adopted cats.
We offer two methods of adoption meetings:
- Adopters can meet cats in person between 12-5 PM daily. We welcome both walk-ins and scheduled appointments. Most cats and some select kittens are available for in-person meetings.
- Adopters can meet cats and kittens via video meeting between 10AM-5PM daily by appointment only and subject to availability. Kittens in foster homes are only available for video adoption meetings.
Get started now by completing the adoption questionnaire below. One of our adoption counselors will then contact you within 48 hours.
