Talk about good looks! China is a calico, with deeply-colored patches of orange, black, and brown among the white areas of her fur. She’s a petite girl, and we estimate she’s around 8 years of age (as of 1/09). At some point in her earlier life, she was declawed in front.

China is very affectionate and enjoys being scratched gently around her head and neck. However, China can get a feisty at times and has been known to bit on occasion. For this reason, we feel she would be better off in an environment with no small children. China also doesn’t seem to like other cats much, and would almost certainly do better as an “only” cat.

Update: China has been moved from her suite to our community room where most of our administrative work is done. She seems grateful to be in a more peaceful environment with fewer cats and more people! She’s also showing more of he sweet, lovable personality. Sadly, she has also been diagnosed with diabetes as well as inflammatory bowel disease. Now she requires insulin injections twice daily and her appetite and blood glucose levels must be closely monitored.
