Chronic ear infections

Originally a resident of an outdoor cat community, Piper was trapped, spayed and vaccinated, and returned to her colony in 2019 where she spent years navigating life outdoors. However, in 2026 she was brought to a municipal shelter by animal control when she was found suffering from balance and mobility issues caused by a severe inner ear infection. After some much-needed medical care, Piper has made a full recovery and is back on all four paws. And she has happily traded the great outdoors for the cozy comfort of indoor life!

As a former outdoor kitty, Piper is still very timid and fearful around people. But she’s slowly discovering that humans might not be so bad after all. If you approach her slowly, she will accept gentle pets, and every now and then, she seems to lean into the love. She enjoys food and will often come out for some treats and sit comfortably near you.

Piper needs a calm home with a patient adopter who will follow her lead, celebrate her small milestones, and love her unconditionally—even if she never becomes a lap cat. Because she loves other cats, having friendly feline roommates will help Piper feel safe as she settles in. As a senior lady, Piper also needs an adopter who can keep a watchful eye on her ears in case an infection resurfaces, but she is otherwise healthy and ready to enjoy her golden years on a comfy couch.
