Happy March, my sponsor friends!
Wasn’t February something? I know what you must have thought about the Blizzard of 2026. It was a lot of work and inconvenience for those of you who live in this neck of the woods, to say the least. Those thoughts might have included some @#&#^! words.
But for us… it was simply wonderful. We were warm and snug while the cold winds blew, AND a bunch of humans stayed with us during the storm. They slept over to make sure we were taken care of. For cats like me who need every dose of medication without interruption, it was very appreciated. And it was fun to have company at night too!
Thank goodness it didn’t snow on March 7th, though. That was the day for the Paws To Read, Read Across America At Tabby’s Place event. Children came to read to us! I love it when people talk to me. Being read to is even better!
Red and white, the Cat in the Hat stripes, have quickly given way to bright green. The Lucky Vibes no adoption fee event takes place from lucky Friday the 13th to St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th. There’s excitement in the air with all the cats wondering who might be finding a forever home.

Did you know that if you catch a leprechaun, he might grant three wishes in return for his freedom? It really happens. I had three wishes, and they came true!
I felt so miserable when my skin condition flared up. How I wished I could get relief from the discomfort and itching, and that my eyes didn’t hurt.
Thank goodness for our talented veterinary staff. They took such good care of me with medications and “spa” treatments to improve my exfoliative dermatitis and eye irritation. It worked wonders. My trouble spots are much improved, and my fur is beginning to grow back.
I improved so much that I was released from my hospital stay in the Medical Center. I’m back in a regular suite again, but I have a new address. I’m in Suite D now, which is another of the FIV+ Suites. I just love it here.
At first, I was dismayed that I wasn’t going back to Suite I. Mandarin was a good friend to me. He snuggled with me when I needed comfort. It really helped to have a friend. I worried that we’d be lonely without each other. What if the residents in Suite D didn’t accept me?

Well… I needn’t have worried. Suite D is great! I get along great with my roommates Emperatriz, Karl, Grayson, Lucy, and Sage. I like Grayson best because we play together. A new youngster, Joe, will be joining us soon. I won’t be surprised if he wants to play too. There’s a solarium here that’s just as nice as the one in Suite I. With warmer weather ahead, I’m looking forward to spending some time in it.
No worries about my friend being lonely. Mandarin has been seen snuggling with Rihanna lately. I always thought she was so beautiful, but I was too shy to approach her. I had no idea that Mandarin is such a ladies’ man!
I wished so many times for a place to live. Living outside, homeless, hungry, and afraid is just awful. Living at Tabby’s Place is like a dream come true. When I was wishing, I had no idea a place like this existed. Every comfort is provided. Every need is met. Enrichment is supplied. I can even get sunshine and fresh air in the safety of a solarium. I never ever want to live outside on the streets again.
Frankly, I feel so lucky being here, that I wouldn’t be surprised if some of my poops are coming out shaped like four-leaf clovers!

My third wish was that love would find me. That’s the one I thought would never happen. I’m not a cute kitten. I’m not beautiful like a purebred or show cat. I don’t even look like a normal cat. (Correspondent Nancy tells me she thinks scruffy is adorable, and who cares what’s normal anyway.) More importantly, the biggest impediment to love finding me was that I had a wall of mistrust so high that it could keep out White Walkers, Wildings, and giants.
But something really special happened to me this month. I figured out that I don’t have to be afraid of humans. The wall is coming down. Not only am I accepting and enjoying pets now, but I’m also giving back affection. I loved the attention of the children who spent time with me. I enjoy greeting visitors now, too. You can watch a video of me below.
With or without leprechauns, Tabby’s Place has special magic. It beamed out a rainbow that led you to me. Thank you for how you love me unconditionally and help me so generously. Because of you… love has found me.
Love,
Chester
