Greetings, FeLVie fans!

It’s time for another update on our crew. As usual, there’s a lot of news this month, so let’s dive right in.
The best news over the past month involved KB, who was adopted! If you don’t remember KB, he was just introduced in last month’s write-up, and he was adopted very soon afterward. It was no surprise; he’s a wonderful boy with gorgeous Bengal colorings. But I must admit that the newest FeLV+ cat is also terrific.

Jamison is another beautiful brown tabby. He can be very talkative, usually when he wants attention, which is frequently. He has intense green eyes that remind me exactly of a tiger’s. Jamison has been very friendly since his introduction into the suite, but he’s also unintentionally caused some unhappiness there. He is recovering from an involved dental procedure and has been able to eat only canned food for some time. He did spend quite a while crated, but now he’s out and about, and, to the annoyance of the other felines in his suite, we’re removing the kibble from the suite during the day. Jamison is still crated at night so everyone else can have their kibble.
Kitty Purry (shown in the header photo) and brother Leonardo DiCatrio have been doing nicely. Both ventured into the solarium on a recent sunny Saturday and were clearly enjoying themselves, testing the breeze and staring at… well, I’m sure it was something, but I couldn’t see it. Kitty Purry was the recipient of some beautiful grooming from her suitemate, Regina—see the video below.
Braveheart was napping in a cubbyhole, clearly too comfortable to come out. And Regina actually moved off her towel-covered heating pad to stand in the doorway when I held open the door to the solarium. The cats in that suite all know that they can get into the solarium via the cat door, but of course, it’s more fun when a human opens the person-sized door and waits on them.

Clifford has spring fever. That’s the only way I can account for his unusually affectionate behavior toward me of late. He is taking an interest in my comings and goings, demanding attention, and repeatedly trying to stick his head into my purse. Sometimes he’ll sit on an elevated structure in the middle of the Quinn’s Corner lobby and look up into the skylights. A couple of staffers who have offices just across a hallway from the Quinn’s Corner lobby have reported that occasionally they’ll look up from their work to find Clifford staring fixedly at them through the lobby’s glass walls!
Francois was able to transition back to the regular diabetic safe diet, so he’s no longer being crated for meals. His stool has been mostly good. He was observed having a coughing spell, so we’re keeping an eye on that. Both Francois and Luke are frequently in their solarium, as the weather has warmed up enough here to make it enjoyable, at least in the sun.
Trifecta remains a favorite of staff, volunteers, and visitors, as he obviously loves people and never tires of attention. He also loves to play, as you can see in one of the videos below.

Batty is still timid with us some of the time, but I think she’s making a little progress with people. She has me very well-trained by now, and I know she likes me to put one or two pieces of kibble close to her at a time, which she’ll eat daintily before looking at me expectantly for more.
I think Hoopla Green might not realize that the solarium in her suite is open again. If you recall, we had to close off the solarium due to the extreme cold and snow. With slightly warmer weather, the solarium has been reopened, and she could go in again if she wanted to, but so far I haven’t seen her there; she spends the daytime hours, at least, in a cubbyhole in her suite.

And Amigo has found an ideal set-up for himself in that suite. There’s a fabric house with a long, heated, towel-covered pad extending out from its bottom along a bench. Amigo relaxes on the towel in the house until someone enters his suite, when he’ll get up, stretch, and ask for affection. He’s such a sweet boy!
We appreciate you more than you know. You are the reason we can provide for these special cats; it is because of you that we can offer them the love and care they deserve. Thank you!
Your correspondent,
Stephanie
