Update for Hips

Must double-check the Thanksgiving with The Cats raffle basket

Hips’ Happenings #36

Happy winter to all my wonderful sponsors!

Welcome to my December update.  I hope you are safe and warm, as the weather here has turned kind of nasty.  But, all is good at Tabby’s Place.

Peabody & I share the plaid tunnel

First, we had a wonderful turnout for our Thanksgiving With The Cats open house.  It was the biggest crowd ever!

But, it wasn’t safe for all of us lobby cats to be in the lobby with so many visitors coming and going. We would have gotten way overstimulated, so we had some quiet time in other rooms at the sanctuary instead.

In the video at the end of this update, you can see how delighted we were to return to the lobby when the event was over! Also, here is a picture of me double-checking the raffle basket before it was given to the lucky winner.

Now we are all awaiting the December holidays, as well as the first day of winter (although it already feels like winter….).

Sharing front door patrol duty with Olive

Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanza are all this month, and the cats are ready to celebrate each special day.  To prepare, Peabody and I have been doing our usual phone duty, answering questions from callers who want to adopt or visit us.  We have been trying our best to be good boys so that Santa will bring us food, treats, and blankies—yay!

In keeping with my usual antics, I have been playing a lot with Peabody.  Sometimes we fight over the plaid tunnel (see video at the end), and sometimes we share it.

I have also been supervising the volunteers and staff with the usual cleaning, feeding, and medicating.  I have so much to do since my dear Prescott has moved herself into the Community Room, and I don’t get to play with her anymore.

While I miss her a lot, I have wonderful memories. And, I am making new memories with the remaining lobby cats.  Olive is still on door patrol, and Peabody and I are just having a blast when we aren’t napping.

Ensuring the phone calls all get answered

So, dear sponsors, please come and visit us if you can.  We are always happy to have you play with us and give us more laps to sit on.  And then, you can tell Santa how good we are, so that he brings us treats and food and beds and blankies.

Enjoy all of the December holidays, and be sure to bundle up when you go out.  Be safe and well until next month.

Love and kitty hugs and kisses,
Hips
