Update for the FeLV+ Fund

Kitty Purry, back to her mischievous self!

Greetings, FeLVie fans!

The autumn leaves are falling, and our Felvie friends have much to be thankful for this November. They want to personally invite you to share some time with them on Saturday, the 22nd, when Tabby’s Place opens its doors to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Cats from noon to 4 p.m.

Let’s begin in Suite G, where the cats are celebrating one wonderful milestone after another.

Two of our friends, Jovi and Sweet Pea, were adopted together and are thankful for their new life in a forever home. You may recall that Jovi had a troubling October, but he healed up from his dental procedure, and his new mom promises to keep his heart healthy with routine echocardiograms. It sounds like both sweet boys are settling right into house life!

Sweet Toby loves to be loved!

The next celebration was the completion of FIP treatment for both Kitty Purry and Leonardo DiCatrio (he’s shown in the header photo).  These two teenagers are back to full impact action, and they have you to thank for their recovery! They also have a new energetic friend named Polka.

Polka looks much like Kitty, but is a tiny bit larger and has a tipped ear. He is busy and very vocal. Kitty wasn’t sure about him at first, but her reservations were gone after a mere 48 hours of interaction. Polka has a high-pitched chirping voice when out and interacting, and a loud, demanding meow when he wants attention. There’s a video of Polka playing at the end of this update–enjoy!

Inmate Trifecta!

Toby is the newest addition to Suite G. He’s a large tabby boy with a very sweet and subtle disposition. He loves human interaction and frequently appears to be smiling. Toby was asked to dress up as a bumblebee for Halloween. He wasn’t sure what he thought about that, but he sure was as sweet as honey as a Tobee!

Last month, you met our dear Braveheart. I am happy to report that he continues to become braver all the time. He is out in the open in the suite and solarium more and more often. He doesn’t seek out attention, but is learning to appreciate it when offered. Please see the video at the bottom of this update to see this sweet boy.

The double positive boys in Suite F have also welcomed a new roommate. Francios is a handsome and outgoing black-and-white boy who has an appetite for mischief. He is sneaky and has managed to make his way into the Quinn’s Corner lobby when it was not his turn. I’ve personally witnessed his stealth from my office and can testify that he moves with ninja-like ease between unsuspecting legs and doors. He enjoys human attention and gets a little demanding when all eyes are not focused on him.

Clifford, King of the QC lobby!

Trifecta and Luke don’t always enjoy Francios’s persistence in playing or attempts to steal food. To keep things fair, both Francios and Mr. Rogers are crated to eat their meals so that Trifecta and Luke can both get their fair share of each meal.

As Stephanie mentioned last month, Clifford started bullying Batty and Hoopla Green in spite of his own challenges. Clifford had no sooner recovered from his dental procedure than he developed a fever and decreased appetite. He was given a dose of long-acting antibiotics and some anti-nausea medication, and these interventions seem to have helped. We are keeping a close watch on his appetite, his mood, and his behavior. To give him time to recover while keeping him from bothering his roommates, he has been given exclusive access to the Quinn’s Corner lobby for the time being. This change, while temporary, has created more peace for Batty and Hoopla. Clifford seems to really enjoy living the bachelor life of luxury.

Trifecta has warmed up to Francois!

In this season of thankfulness, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support of our FeLV+ friends. They are so very grateful for your love!
