Dear Supporters of Bacon,
Will the real Bacon please stand up??
Because I’m on vacation for a few weeks, I don’t get a chance to see Bacon. So, when I’m finally home and arrive at Tabby’s Place, I’m very excited to unzip his house and let this little guy out. He pops out and makes a few turns around the room (as usual). Then he comes over.
Now Bacon has the reputation for becoming easily overstimulated so it’s always “go easy” when I’m with him. Imagine me sitting on the floor and Bacon coming over. At times he can walk right past me as if I’m invisible. Not today.
Sniff. Sniff. Sniff.
“Remember me?” I ask. “Sorry I’ve been away so long.”

He nods and stands there as if waiting for something. Okay. I reach out and pet him. Sometimes when I make contact, he tilts slightly away, letting me know that, perhaps, this is not a good time. This time he leans into me. What? You want to be petted?
It was everything good after that. I brought out some snacks. Since he has trouble scooping them off the floor, I put a few in the palm of my hand. Chomp. Chomp.

“You’re in an awfully good mood today,” I say.
After a few minutes, after a drink and another walk around the room, he retreats back into his house. I, of course, leave to do my thing in the dishes department.
That was a good visit, I think, as I leave. Actually, it was an excellent visit!
Hours later, one of the women who work at Tabby’s Place sends a photo of Bacon. She explains that this morning, of all mornings, someone forgot to let Bacon out of his house. For hours (well, only a few hours) he had no chance to sleep on his supersized bed. He was not a happy camper.

When he was finally let out, rumor has it that he shot her the “death glare”.
Death glare?? From my sweet Bacon? Today? But she sent the photo to prove it.
So, as I ask, ha, ha, will the real Bacon please stand up??
As always, Bacon and I thank you for your continued generosity. He had a good month with no medical news to report. Yay!
We hope you enjoy the lovely weather we’ve been having, and that this summer is one of your best!!!
