Update for Tux

Dear Friend of Tux,

Summer has arrived a bit early in Ringoes, NJ this year.

Neither Tux, nor I, have a particularly green thumb (or toe bean), but we both appreciate the seasonal blooms. Just a few weeks ago, in late May, the view outside Tux’s favorite window was filled with pink blossoms.

This particular pink rose bush is extra special as it was planted as a memorial to a beautiful little special needs cat named Rose. Rose spent most of her life as a resident of Tabby’s Place and was much loved by everyone.

Today, the rose bush reminds me of my son’s boutonniere the day after prom. It still smells sweet, but the blossoms are no longer radiant. But I still remember the feeling of joy that it brought to my heart when in full bloom. Tux hopes the photo does the same for you.

In honor of Summer’s arrival, I have a short video of Tux to share with you.

While you, or I, might think summer is the time to head to the beach or go for a refreshing dip in the water, Tux reminds us that it is always important to stay hydrated. But who says you can’t have a little fun in the process? Certainly not Tux.

On two separate occasions, I caught him pawing at the water bowl before wetting his whistle. I managed to catch the tail end of it and hope it brings a smile to your face, just as it did to mine.

As a dear friend of Tux, we know that you appreciate the wisdom and maturity that comes with age. You find joy in watching our distinguished and dapper friend dip his paw in his beverage. But, if you, or someone you know, is feeling like a kid who just got out of school for the summer, tired of streaming silly cat videos, and itching to create some of your own, then join us for an afternoon of fun with our littlest felines furballs. On Sunday, June 23, Tabby’s Place will host its first in-person Kitten Shower since 2019. Tux and I have been informed that there will be fun for all ages.

Just thinking about all those kittens is exhausting.

Whether your summer plans involve celebratory gatherings or relaxing vacations, Tux wants you to know that your generosity makes his heart bloom with gratitude every day. He and I wish you a Summer filled with joyful delights. Wherever your plans take you, please don’t forget to stop and smell the roses along the way.

Your correspondent,
Lisa
