Hips’ Happenings #6

Welcome to June, Dear Sponsors, and to my latest happenings!

Sit back and relax as I have a lot to share with you all this month. I am kind of sad because my lobby buddy, Morty, left me for Rainbow Bridge recently.  He was very sick, but he had a lot of love and good times here at Tabby’s Place before we all had to say goodbye for a while.  I am glad Morty and I made friends before he went away.  But I promised him that we would see each other again one day.

Here I am – in our Executive Director’s office (tee-hee!). I’m so clever!

On the other hand, I am so happy I gave the lobby reins (reigns… LOL) to Grecca months ago because that has freed me up for lots of explorations.  Remember last month when Anka and I watched each other through the glass door after they took the temporary wall down?  Well, I made my way to our Executive Director’s office, which is right off the lobby, and guess what I did?  I jumped the gate and had a good time inside his space.  It was a lot of fun until the staff came and brought me back to the lobby.

And then there was the big volunteer open house a month ago, with so many people coming to visit us.  I got lots of attention and pets and belly rubs.  But I think I got a bit overstimulated because I started looking for a quiet place.  (Can you imagine a quiet place in the middle of all the hubbub?)

Taking a break…

But, resourceful me—I found it!  I saw an open zipper on one of the soft-sided crates and worked my way inside.  No one knew I was in there and they kind of went nuts trying to find me.  They thought I had escaped.  Now, what kitty would want to escape from Tabby’s Place with all the great love and care of attention and FOOD we all get here?  It’s only better if we get adopted into a forever home.  I heard sighs of relief when one of the staff spotted me inside the crate sleeping soundly.  But it was a great day with all the people and activity.

Nothing is off-limits for me! Must check out the trash bin to be sure the volunteers are not throwing away toys or treats!

So, I am loving life with all my fantastic, friendly, fabulous feline ladies.  Remember Nina, who made circles?  She had something called surgery on her brain and it worked.  She is fine now and does not make any more circles!  And my girl, Olive, is still my door security.  But now I have a new  BFF with whom I play and sleep and have fun—it is Prescott!  I love her.  We spend lots of time in the lobby and I love to curl up in her crate.

Rosie, the treat-dispensing robot!

But recently, we had an interloper!   That’s right…a stranger in our midst—something called a “robot” and the staff named her Rosie.  Ha-ha:  Rosie the Robot. Prescott and I recently saw her going around the lobby and we discovered that she dispenses treats…  that’s right…. TREATIES!!  And you know how I love treats!  So the staff put in the kind I can have and Prescott and I are having a ball with Rosie.  This AI isn’t so bad after all.

Below is a video of Rosie giving me treats.  Warning: if you have motion sensitivities, this video may not be for you.

Healthwise, I am just fine.  No problems…just enjoying my monthly checks and the usual manis, pedis, and ear cleaning.

So, dear Sponsors, you must come to visit me and all my ladies and meet Rosie.  She may give you some treats, but I think you should save them for the kitties and for me.  Have a wonderful month and I promise to bring you more happenings next time.

Love to all and thank you for giving me this wonderful life through your kindness!

Love,
Hips
