Update for Boots

My dear sponsors,

It seems that my new correspondent is suffering from a bout of the flu this time around, so I thought I’d take it upon myself to say hello and give you the lowdown on the past month in the Tabby’s Place lobby.

I was a little confused by this “flu” thing. You may remember that my brother’s name was Pause; we came from a “wordsmithing” litter, as you might have guessed from his clever name. Even though I’m a highly literate cat, when I heard [floo], I thought, “flew? How can a person get the flew? That makes no sense.” I’m quite captivated when I see birds in flight, but a person? Can’t be.

So I checked in my trusty dictionary:
“Flue”. Does she have a new fireplace?
“Floo”. Who the heck is Harry Potter and why does he he play with magic powders?
Ah, “flu”, that must be it – she feels icky.

Okay, whatever. No lazing in bed, lady – I have a hankering for some serious lap time!

Yup, that’s right, lap time. I was really excited when I found out I had a new correspondent, and, well, I’ve been shamelessly kissing up to her ever since. There was one afternoon she arrived to say hello right when my dinner was served – some delicious fish morsels. Mmm. But food or no food, she is the pen for my words. I want her to tell the world (a.k.a. you!) how awesome and handsome I am and how much I adore having you sponsor me. So, naturally, I have been pulling out all the stops.

I sniffed at the fish, gave it a lick, and then – fish be darned – jumped right into her lap. And did you know…lap time is really, really nice. I got an ear scratch, a belly rub, some hard core head bonks – I never knew being sweet had such an upside.

I’m thinking about trying this out more often. I’m even being nicer to Oksana, which is making the whole lobby a more peaceful place, and maybe if I stay a little more relaxed, my heart disease will stay stable the way it did this month.

Even if I decide to be nicer, though, I can’t let people think they’ve figured me out. A cat’s got to maintain an aura of mystery, right? To that end, when my correspondent said hello to Oksana (while I was still in her lap!) I gave her a glare, jumped down, and headed straight for my food. Gotta keep her on her toes, just a bit.

It’s been great to talk to you, friends! I hope you all stay healthy this winter, and don’t forget to take your vitamins.

Yours,
Boots
