Update for Boots

Dear friends of Boots,

Have you ever been told you look like someone’s aunt/sister/plumber/etc.? Boots has (well, in a manner of speaking). It’s astonishing how many visitors have arrived at Tabby’s Place only to be drawn immediately to Boots, cooing, “oh my goodness, you look just like my….” If he were a human, you might say he has “one of those faces.”

In even more awesome tuxedo cat news, Boots was recently amused to learn that he’s being sponsored by another Boots, all the way in Oklahoma. Apparently his midwestern lookalike – and his humans – have a real fondness for our Boots. Bootses need to stick together. 🙂

There is no medical news for Boots this month, which is just the way we like it. Besides, all the meteorological hubbub in New Jersey was enough to make up for it! Tabby’s Place came through Hurricane Sandy well enough. In fact, while we lost running water for a few days, we did not lose power, so that puts us one up on last year’s Snowtober storm. Boots, naturally, was not impressed. I’m sure you can guess his reaction to the howling winds and widespread destruction. Yup, he slept right through the whole ordeal (with a break here or there for a snack).

You can see in this month’s photo that we actually caught Boots awake, with both eyes fully open. It’s unusual, I know. You will note, though, that he’s suffering from “bed face” (the feline equivalent of “bed head”), with the whiskers on his right side smooshed from the pressure of Boots’ face on his blanket. One does have to pay some price for the bliss of perpetual slumber, I suppose.

Thank you, dear sponsors, for the love you shower on all Bootses, even if they’re too sleepy to notice!
