Update for Boots

Hello, sponsors of little Boots!

I visited Boots on Sunday, March 4th, a busy day at Tabby’s Place, with volunteers and visitors bustling about in his lobby/territory. At first I couldn’t find him, but then I located him curled up in a tight ball in a cat bed, dead to the world and oblivious to all the activity around him. Insomnia is definitely not a problem for our Boots!

You might recall that last month I reported that Boots – along with many of the other kitties – had an upper respiratory infection. While he looked fine to me, the sharp eyes of the staff had picked up on it and started to give him a dietary supplement. They say that did the trick and he’s now feeling much better.

This was a busy month for Boots – health-check-wise, that is. He had his blood pressure checked this month and it was a little high. He also had bloodwork done, and it was all normal.

Our feisty tuxedo boy also had an ultrasound this month to check up on his heart, and it showed a mild progression. Or, as the ever-positive staff would say, “only” a mild progression. That’s good news for Boots; we won’t even be changing his medication regimen, and we’ll recheck his heart in a few more months. Even though Boots’ medical news is mostly good, we’re still keeping a close eye on him so that nothing gets too far out of whack.

As you might imagine, all these medications and medical tests are quite expensive. We can only provide this extraordinary level of care for Boots because of your support and generosity. Wouldn’t the world be a better place if all cats received the level of care that Boots does? We can only wish…
