Update for the Kitten Fund

Hello Kitten Fund Sponsors,

Oscar and Moonlight enjoying the warm weather

I think I speak for nearly everyone, but we are so glad that spring is finally arriving! The past few days of wonderful warm weather have lifted our spirits and we can tell that our cats are also quietly celebrating the gentle breezes and soft sunbeams. I’m personally lucky enough to work from home during the week and myself and my cat Oscar and my foster kitty, Moonlight, have been enjoying being able to hang out on the patio during the day.

February has been a fairly quiet home for kittens at Tabby’s Place. All but one of our foster kittens has found their new homes and we only welcomed one (very special) little kitty to our crew: Elliot.

Elliot is the newest kitten at the sanctuary. This tiny tot is super sweet and affectionate but has some issues with leaking liquid stool. We are trying a combination of special diet and medication to see if we can get a handle on the leakage. He was previously at another foster and rescue that was unable to resolve his health concerns. We are hoping to have him feeling better soon! Nonetheless, he is a happy little one and oh-so-sweet. He is currently enjoying the good life in foster with one of our staff members!

Nick, our shy tuxedo boy in the Community Room, finally found his forever home! He headed off to his new home where he will have plenty of feline company and a human family that understands him and respects his shyness and boundaries.

Aloo was also adopted in February! She now goes by Bella and loves to play and hang out with her new feline sister, Sammy. The two are best friends already!

Blizzard and Sundae, our brothers with pectus excavatum, were both adopted into loving homes. These two boys were such a special pair and were some of the sweetest, most affectionate kittens we have had in a while. They are off to their respective families now and we wish them the very best!

The Mushrooms are all doing well. Mama Shroom was spayed and released back to her colony, where she will live a long life outdoors, where she is most happy. Cremini (tortie female), Portabello (tabby and white male), Chanterelle (tabby and white female), and Porcini (tuxedo male) all adjusted quickly to the indoor life and flew off to their forever homes! Maitake is the last of the bunch and he continues to do well in foster. He needed a little extra time and some one-on-one attention to shed his shyness and blossom into an affectionate young boy.  We are confident he will be adopted in no time!

Despite the lull in kittens for this month, we are sure that kitten season will be arriving soon and, with it, a whole flood of new little ones!

As always, we are forever grateful for your continued support of some of the smallest and most vulnerable residents here at Tabby’s Place.
