Update for Stafford

Dear Friends of Stafford,

Everything is better with a buddy

Stafford and Inigo Montoya have officially become buddies. They have been spotted curled up on a chair together and awaiting dinner and treats at the office door side by side.

It’s good to see that Stafford’s confidence is giving Inigo the strength to venture out of hiding more and more frequently. Just yesterday it was the day for monthly weights and nail trims in the executive director’s office. Stafford is always very good for this task and doesn’t complain (much). Inigo is terrified. He ran to hide in his cubby, right on top of Stafford, who was curled up for an afternoon rest. Stafford woke up, but didn’t care all the much. He did, after a short bit, dislodge himself from under Inigo’s warm and fuzzy body.

Stafford is healthy and stable on his routine of medication and insulin. He had a blood glucose curve done this month, and required no changes to his insulin. He did, however, have a bout of constipation recently. Stafford is not easily embarrassed, but he does apologize for the odor left in his office after his enema. We are hoping he will soon be feeling a bit better and continue to be regular.

Caught with tongue out

Stafford is sporting his full coat these days, but that may have to change. He is not the best at personal grooming, so needs a hand from his human friends and visitors. If by chance you pay Stafford a visit, he would enjoy some gentle brushing along his back and body. He is not the most patient for grooming sessions, and he is currently quite matted. I have heard a rumor that perhaps it is time for a shorter cut for the season. He is going to require a bath at the very least to get him smelling fresh once again before he makes his next Aged to Purrfection visit.

Speaking of his duties as a therapy cat, Stafford is making regular visits to assisted living facilities in the region. He continues to be a favorite with residents and the volunteers who chauffeur him to and from his visits.

Thank you for your continued generosity to Stafford!
