Update for Rose

Pretty Me!

Dearest Sponsors,

Well, I do declare, my year is off to a happy start, and as my Mama used to say, “We love us a happy start!”  I must admit to blushing a bit when a staff member commented that I am such “an upbeat little lady.”  I find it endearing that visitors who know me from Tabby’s Place Facebook page or Instagram meet me and are surprised that I am small in stature, but big in love and affection.

House Watch

How about we change things up this month and start with my health update?  Sharing positive news with you makes my furry tummy feel so good!  Here we go, first up:  my stools have improved and my medications were decreased to reflect this improvement.  Next, my pesky urinary tract infection cleared up, and I was taken off the antibiotics.  I may just be the luckiest li’l ol’ black-and-white furry southern kitty to have such a wonderful vet staff care about me.  Paws crossed that 2022 is a happy and healthy year for me and for my favorite sponsor!

Have you ever walked into a room and felt a vibe?  The vibe in the lobby is positive and energizing.  My cat roomies all get along well, with an occasional smack (by an unnamed handsome gray cat) because we are just like siblings.  We might not be from the same litter, but we have bonded.  I appreciate that staff and volunteers take pictures of our lobby adventures to share.  They recently captured a sweet moment when “us girls” were looking out of the glass lobby doors together.  Pictured are Valerie, Boobalah, Pepita, and me.

My fun scratcher!

Boobalah and I share the same cozy spots in the lobby and take turns with our favorite cat beds.  Another thing that we have in common is wearing cute Winnie-the-Pooh diapies.  My correspondent has been volunteering a lot lately, and I am overjoyed when she does the evening feeding for the lobby cats.  Why do you ask?  Well, you did not hear it from me, but I get a snack lickable treat in the early afternoon, and a special dinner, with a lickable treat for dessert.  She checks to make sure that I enjoy my selection (as well as my roommates) and will bring out other selections of food if needed.  I imagine this is close to eating on a cruise ship.  The Rose buffet lives on!

Lobby Social!

My correspondent has been describing all the fun at the Olympics to me.  The opening ceremony sounded amazing, and we discuss in which sport I could compete.  I ruled out figure skating and downhill skiing because my legs are a bit too short.  What do you think if I was on a 2-cat bobsled team?  If I had a big cat (like Anka) who could push us off, I believe that we could get a gold medal.  I am inspired by the Jamaican bobsled team who returned to this year’s Olympics.  We had a big snow a few weeks ago and I pictured myself on a bobsled, sailing across the Tabby’s Place lawn.

Cuddling!

We have oodles of kitten cuteness in the kitten room occupied by 4 sweet and special brothers who have tested positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV+).  From the lobby, I spend hours watching the kitten antics through the suite window.  This entertainment has us big cats in the lobby roaring with laughter.  We are so excited about the creation of Quinn’s Corner.

Quinn’s Corner will provide sanctuary, love, and medical care for the most vulnerable kitties in the world—cats with feline leukemia virus AND neonatal kittens.  The Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is difficult to diagnose and manage and requires a high level of individualized care.  Few shelters have the resources to embrace FeLV+ cats, but Tabby’s Place knows these amazing kitties are full of life and deserve a chance to thrive.  Newborns often arrive without their mothers, making them utterly dependent on Tabby’s Place love and expert care.  Quinn’s Corner will allow Tabby’s Place to care for these tiny wonders, who are underserved by rescue and veterinary communities due to their fragile nature and need for intense nurture.

My Valentine’s Photo!

I hope that you felt the love beating in my heart for you on Valentine’s Day and the other 364 days of the year!  Thank you for making my every day a celebration.  My volunteer photographer friend created a special Valentine’s Day photoshoot, and I was tickled pink to be featured, posing on my favorite lobby chair…  with my signature beautiful roses.

Sending you chocolate whisker kisses for a sweet month!

Rose
