Update for Kitten Fund

Hello, Kitten Lovers!

It’s taking form before our very eyes! Quinn’s Corner evolves from being a nebulous idea to being a place of purpose and promise. The complexity and challenges of the construction fade as the form and function of Tabby’s Place’s new digs become more of a reality each day. It will become a proper home for the most challenged kitties—those diagnosed with feline leukemia (FeLV)  and neonatal kittens. As we mentioned previously, this expansion will require many more volunteers to work with our new residents.  This is a friendly reminder to check with your circle of friends and acquaintances to see if you might know someone who would like to volunteer at Tabby’s Place and become part of the family. They can apply by clicking here.

Checking in with our current population, you will be pleased to hear that Mama Aspen was spayed and our diligent little mama has moved on to her forever home. She took her job seriously and did it well, as now her baby boys are all in forever homes as well.

They are not the only kitties that Lady Luck smiled upon, as the Irish Boys were all adopted, wait for it….TOGETHER! Those cute little rascals are in a loving home where they are being spoiled and loved to bits. Gossamer and Peekaboo are hoping some of the luck of the Irish will rub off on them because they are coming back from foster care and hope that a loving new forever home is in their future.

There has been a mini baby boom at Tabby’s Place as a new mom cat, Philly—whose kittens are Cowboy, Bolo, and Lasso—arrived with her pregnant friend Ponderosa. The unfortunate caveat with this crew was that all five of the kittens had ringworm lesions. Since full treatment cannot be done on pregnant or nursing moms, they are all getting special baths and mousse treatments:  spa day in the maternity ward!

Eggroll, Kimichi, and Bao grow ever more resilient and are thriving. We can only hope that other babies like Dandelion and Burdock flourish while they are in foster care. They are with a staff member who can bottle feed them and keep them closely monitored. Hopefully, this will be their first step on their journey to a forever home. The “Hotel” is getting full as Tabby’s Place welcomes some new arrivals—Chuck and Norris. As always, the flow of need is tempered with a high level of unbridled cuteness.

The Tabby’s Place lobby was turned into a veritable kitten party for our recent Kitten Shower, which we held virtually last weekend.  Olive, our long-time lobby greeter, isn’t quite sure what the big fuss is all about, but then she probably doesn’t remember just how adorable she likely was as a tiny fur baby. If you want to check out the Kitten Shower, you can see how it went right here!

We are grateful for your continued support and interest in this vulnerable population. Heartfelt thanks for your generosity!
