Update for Jude

Dear Jude Friend,

Jude had a fairly peaceful month, which is how she likes things.  Jude certainly doesn’t like anything too exciting in her life—she only likes calm and peaceful days. Jude’s idea of a good day is when nothing happens at all, except for food arriving on time, and a nice comfy bed to sleep in.

Jude did have seizures this month, but the amount of seizures is still down from where they were, and only 2 of those were large seizures and the others passed very quickly.

Jude had a few days of loose stool again this month. Some days she has perfect stool, and other days it is soft. She gets a probiotic in her food every day, and it tastes really good, so Jude loves her probiotic. Due to the days of loose stool, Jude had to have a few baths this month, and we know how she feels about having to take a bath. But we can’t have a dirty Jude, of course, and she really loves being clean.

Jude’s friend, Luvs, is still visiting Jude several times a day. They are such good friends, and Luvs is the perfect friend for Jude.  She doesn’t try to make Jude play or do anything annoying that Jude would not approve of.  She just hangs out with her or sleeps in a bed next to Jude. This is the perfect friendship for Jude.

Jude has been very receptive to pets lately, which makes me so happy. She will only allow this late at night, and she has to be in her playpen; otherwise, she is not going to accept pets, and will just get cranky. But late at night, I can pet her, scratch her chin, and kiss her! She has started leaning into my hand for pets and is actually enjoying it. It warms my heart so much to be able to have this time with her and be able to have that positive interaction with her. I love this girl so much, even when she’s cranky with me, but being able to pet her without growls—and have her actually enjoying it—is really amazing.

We only had a few cooler days lately, so Jude hasn’t been able to have her windows open often lately. On the days I was able to open up the windows for her she really enjoyed the nice breeze. She lifts her head and tilts it towards the breeze—it is the cutest thing to see!

When Jude first comes out of her playpen in the morning, the first thing she does is scoot all over her room. This lasts about 10 minutes, and it’s the most active she is all day. After her morning scoot around, the next thing on her agenda is breakfast. For the rest of the day, she is pretty mellow and prefers to lie in a comfy bed. She will scoot around some during the day, but not like she does first thing in the morning.

That’s all the Jude news for now. As always, thank you so much for everything you do for our little Jude, as we couldn’t do this without you.
