Update for Cisco

Update for Cisco

Greetings, Cisco supporters.

The last month has brought a sense of calm to Suite FIV. Since Knickers, the most cat-aggressive member of Suite FIV, was adopted, the suite has been a marvelously mellow place.

But as with anything in life, that could change on a dime!  There has been a lot going on in Suite FIV again this month. Arlo seems to have taken on the important role of official greeter. He is a very sweet, loving boy. He is quite the moving target when trying to capture his handsomeness in a photo, but you can still see how adorable he is!

JJ and Jake arrived next, and at the time of my visit, they were still crated. Jake is a feisty little guy who was rattling the crate door and swinging at anything that would get close enough to him to allow it. It will be interesting for him to have free roam in the suite. Watch out world, and move over Rufus and Lester!

Cisco hasn’t had the best of months. Maybe that’s why he was trying to pretend I wasn’t there visiting him, and tucking himself away behind Rufus. He lost a significant amount of weight in a short period of time, and blood work revealed that his kidneys have worsened considerably.

When he became lethargic and hypoglycemic, our vet team kept him in our in-house hospital on IV fluids for several days. We hoped that flushing his kidneys would improve his renal values, but unfortunately they were little changed.

He does seem to be feeling better now, so he’s happily back in Suite FIV. Cisco also has a urinary tract infection, and we’re optimistic that treating that with antibiotics will also help his kidneys. He’s also receiving subcutaneous fluids daily.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for all you do for Cisco, and for Tabby’s Place. We could not give Cisco all that he needs without the support of generous and loving people like you.

Have a beautiful month!
