Well, Dre‘s departure, which we all anticipated would result in a great mellowing in the FIV Suite, has not had the intended effect — not even a little bit. King Edward has chosen this time to remind everyone that he is the boss of the applesauce. He tortured our newest sweetie pie, Doc Watson, so badly that Doc had to be evacuated permanently. (Don’t worry, he’s now the very happy office mate of our Founder and Executive Director, Jonathan.) The impact of all the hullabaloo seems to be that our Buddy is resolved to stay in his safe spots, where Edward doesn’t venture. He happily cozies up on toasty blankets on top of the crates and still loves his tunnel naps.
There are many visits on which I find myself in the hallway, staring at Buddy’s adorable little white belly through the tube to the solarium rather than relishing his purr-filled head butts. Nonetheless, he is still adored and adorable, and I am sure in time he will once again emerge from his shell, wrap himself next to his pal Newman, and let all his fans and admirers enjoy time with the quiet, gentle soul with the green eyes that melt my heart.
Buddy’s health is excellent, and of course, we continue to keep close tabs on his dental health.
