Linda
Little Linda may be the single cutest kitten ever born. Everything about our tiny girl is round, from her owl-like, oh-so-serious eyes to her cherubic face. But there’s one thing about our newest kitten that isn’t so little: her heart. She may fit in the palm of your hand, but Linda has a supersized love and the courage of a lion.
She’ll need it.
At just 8 weeks of age, Linda has already known more pain than any cat should experience in a lifetime. Somehow, the little grey-and-white cherub ended up with almost all the skin scraped off the backs of her rear legs. That’s just as painful as it sounds, and little Linda was hurting badly. The veterinarian caring for Linda knew the kitten would need far more care than she would receive at most shelters. And so, through a fortunate series of events, Linda became a Tabby’s Place cat.
Although she has a lot to say with her mini-meow, Linda’s not telling us exactly what happened to her poor legs. Our veterinarian thinks it may have been some sort of sliding injury, or perhaps a chemical or thermal burn. What we do know is that our little love-bug will need a lot of tender care in the days ahead.
Our little sweetheart will almost certainly need skin grafts in the near future, as well as additional surgery. It’s possible that Linda may need to have the most damaged leg removed, but we are hopeful that we can save it. Right now, Linda is being a brave and snuggly little soldier through her frequent bandage changes and medications.
Through all this trauma, Linda’s sweetness shines brightly. Despite the pain we know she must feel, Linda loves love, and will chirp and “make muffins” with her tiny front paws when you spend time with her. Linda’s traumatic past hasn’t dampened her gentle courage or her inspiring spirit. In fact, we humans would all like to be a little more like Linda in how we face life’s adversities!
We can never know exactly what happened to little Linda before coming to Tabby’s Place. But we have made our tiny angel a promise for the days to come: we will give her absolutely everything she may need. Whatever the future may hold for Linda, she will get all the medical care, love, and tremendous affection she needs here at Tabby’s Place.
We have a feeling that a person with a heart as special as Linda’s will fall in love with her and make her their own. But, until that happens, Linda needs extensive – and expensive – treatments and surgeries to make a full recovery. Please open your heart to Linda and become her sponsor
