Fuzzy

Fuzzy

Greetings from Fuzzy who joins Nuttin’ as being one of our FIV+ and diabetic resident cats.Fuzzy resides in our FIV+ Suite and his diabetes is relatively well-managed well through diet and insulin.

From the moment we were graced with Fuzzy’s presence, we’ve had an uncanny number of remarks on how absolutely beautiful he is. As you can see in the photos, he’s a large, buff-colored male with light green eyes, and significant charm to boot.

Fuzzy came to us from a shelter in which he was able to be fostered until he was at the top of our FIV+ Waiting List. He did get off to a bit of a rough start here, requiring treatment for ringworm and then being caged for a while due to an infection.

Cats that are FIV+ have been infected with the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This virus disables or destroys the white blood cells, and leaves the cat susceptible to infections. At Tabby’s Place, FIV+ cats are lucky enough to have their very own suite in which we are extra-careful about disease control procedures for their own safety and comfort.Fuzzy1.jpg

Fuzzy is also diabetic and requires a insulin injections twice a day.He also better manage his diabetes through a special diet, which helps reduce his insulin requirement.Fuzzy loves his food, though he is not fond of his insulin injections.99.9% of cats do not react to their insulin injections, but Fuzzy acts as if he is being tortured.

But he is a pushover for love and with some soft talking and a few good chin scratches, a little jump from the initial prick is about as “out of sorts” that he gets through the process.Fuzzy2.jpg

Fuzzy is doing quite well in our FIV+ Suite now, charming human visitors and his suitemates alike. As if his handsome appearance were not enough to win everyone over, Fuzzy has remained quite sweet through all his experiences at Tabby’s Place thus far.

Fuzzy is very affectionate, still young (just 3 years old) and loves nothing more than your adoring attention along with the occational “conversation.”So, we are hopeful he may be adopted some day. Meanwhile, please consider sponsoring him and helping us to care for this wonderful, handsome guy.
