Dear friends,
I hope you’re enjoying the autumn colors and the chill in the air. It’s the perfect season for cozy blankets, fireplaces, and warm beverages.

I had so much fun dressing up as a court jester (minus the hat) for Halloween this year. However, there are two other roles I like to play that require no special costumes for me: (1) beached whale and (2) speedy Gonzalez.
As you know, I continue to lie around like a beached whale every chance I get. But when food comes out, all you’ll see is a large black and white blur as I speed joyfully toward a potential meal. I guess I’m like a dog in that way—very food motivated!
The kind staff feed the other cats away from me so that I can’t run over to their food and eat it all. Bummer! And they must have told the humans not to sneak me any of their snacks or lunch because I keep striking out there, too. And, still, I’m built like a large Taylor Ham sandwich that weighs over 18 lbs. I continue to baffle the staff because I keep gaining weight instead of losing it.
The thrill of the chase is fun, and I will continue to pursue food whenever I can. Which reminds me, Tabby’s Place is holding its annual Thanksgiving With The Cats on Saturday, November 22nd, from noon to 4 p.m. This is a very special event that is near and dear to my heart (and belly!) because visitors can feed the cats Thanksgiving treats. I hope you can make it!
I’ve managed to avoid Winky’s crosshairs lately. I just ignore him and pretend I don’t see him. Leo and I recently huddled and talked about raising funds to pay someone to adopt Winky, or perhaps we can pay off a staff member to move him to another room at Tabby’s Place. We’re working on perfecting our plan. Wish us luck.
In the meantime, in anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday, I’ll be reflecting on how thankful I am to have you in my life. You are a special friend to me, and I’m so grateful for your ongoing love and support.
My deepest gratitude,
Taylor Ham
