Dear Friend of Pepita,

Welcome to February, the month of love! Pepita and I hope you are taking some time to feel the immense love she has for you.

We are hoping to see you at our Your Feline Valentine event today, February 15, so Pepita can shower you with affection in person. The event runs from 12-4 pm, but the first hour is reserved for devoted sponsors like you! New potential sponsors and friends may pop in from 1-4 pm when the event opens to the public. (Of course, you are welcome anytime during the event!)

On the health front, Pepita’s skin has healed well on a dose of steroids. We hope to wean her off the steroids, but we don’t want another flare to occur. Our first attempt to decrease her dose didn’t work. But our vet team is on the case and we’re hopeful we can solve this puzzle.

Pepita gets so much love from our volunteers that often there is competition for time with this sweet girl. One of our ace volunteers told me that she went to see our fur baby and that Pepita had just gotten very much love from a fellow volunteer. She had also just eaten her dinner. Although our sweet Miss P prefers dining—and everything else—al fresco, these days she’s opting for the warm comfort of indoors. Through the suite door, the volunteer waited as she watched Pepita enjoy her first offering. Then Pepita decided to check out the other offerings of her suitemates, as you can see in this video of her second dinner: Pepita eats even more! Our lady is quite the gourmand!

For quite a while, Adder and Boa, two adorable suite mates of Pepita’s, interfered with volunteers visiting any of the other kitties, with Uni as a sometimes co-conspirator. I absolutely can’t blame Pepita for wanting little to do with that rambunctious trio. But, with Adder and Boa off to their forever home (yay!) and Uni crated for overnight, things were quieter, and that allowed for some devoted love by this volunteer.

We are all hoping for a little less chill in the air in the last half of February, as it has been quite the cold and snowy/wintry mix sort of start to this month. But whenever we think of you and your devotion to our gorgeous girl, this amazing warm feeling comes over us.
