July greetings to you, Kitten Fund sponsors!

On June 23 in greater metropolitan Ringoes, New Jersey, it was a dry but steamy 95 degrees, but inside Tabby’s Place there was a refreshing Kitten Shower. More than a hundred visitors toured the sanctuary, enjoyed the provided snacks, and (of course) played with the kittens.
At the top of the screen are (from left) Banana Split, Slurpy, and Gelato. Foster mom Cindy says, “B. Split is the most adventurous followed closely by Slurpy. Gelato is a bit more reserved but still enjoying himself. They have thoroughly explored their new place and made themselves quite at home.”
There were so many images to choose from this month that to show them all they’d have had to be shrunk into something resembling the Million Dollar Home Page. (Coincidentally, someone recently created One Million Checkboxes, the 2024 cyber equivalent of bubble wrap.)

Sanctuary Associate & Foster Coordinator Tiana Thomas tells us that “June has been a super busy month for the foster team! …. 26 of the new foster additions were kittens, 7 being neonatal kittens, and 4 being born in our care! All our fosters are thrilled to be in their homes, and we are so grateful to the awesome folks who welcomed them into their space. Thank you to everyone for all of your help & involvement!
We are looking forward to what the next summer month will bring!” And a great big thanks to you for helping Tabby’s Place help them.

That number Tiana quoted doesn’t include the addition of Shakira, a pregnant mom cat. Foster mom Donna will provide word when her babies are born. Donna’s been busy with Bean kittens Lentil, Cannellini, and Chickpea, too.
In more kitten news, Gayle reports on her little ones: “Despina wasn’t feeling well for a few days but now he is back to being crazy with his brother Galatea. They have great personalities and love to play!” They pose very nicely, too!
Foster mom Jill provided portraits of tuxedoed kittens Slushy and Sundae, who with the aforementioned Banana Split, Slurpy, and Gelato, make up the Ice Cream Crew. According to Jill, “Sundae has a loud motor and is exploring her new dig already. Slushy is more shy but warming up already.”
Your correspondent also enjoyed the company of kittens in recent days.
At one point, 3 of the Snake Kittens were crowded on my lap, while below, you see their closeness bring out the mother cat in one of them. With the recent events in the news, I modified the current admonition “Touch grass” into “Touch cats.” (You bet it helps!)
These two Snake kittens keep as close as any brothers.
Before I go, Happy 1-year Tabby’s Place Anniversary to Sanctuary Associate (and sometimes foster mom) Gail Thompson! She’s in the picture below, from the afternoon of the Kitten Shower.
Tiana says, “If you’re willing and able to foster, we have plenty of kittens that would benefit from foster care. Please contact the foster team at foster@tabbysplace.org.”
Until next month, wishing you all good things…
Your correspondent,
John
P.S.: I saw in the news that the Florida Panthers are Stanley Cup champions, and that during the public victory celebration, the coach managed to sneak in a salute to his own house cats. “My two cats!” head coach Paul Maurice said, showing the crowd his shirt. “This is Poppy, this is Penny. Those are my two cats. My daughter made this shirt, and I promised her if we win the Stanley Cup, I’m wearing that shirt.” Soon, he’ll also wear a championship ring.
