Dear friends,
We are all living contradictions. Two opposite sides of the very same coin. Light and shadow. Good and not-so-good. Lovers and fighters. When we embrace all sides of ourselves, we come to truly know ourselves.
I’ve bounced from lover to fighter to fiercer fighter, back to lover, so many times, I think we’re all dizzy from it. Each time, I’ve made bold declarations: “My fighting days are over, folks!” “Just kidding :-)” “No, really, I love everyone and everything.” “Okay, maybe not EVERY one …” The truth is this: I’m a lover and a fighter, and I’ll probably always be both.
Recently, a pair of Tabby’s Place staffers were discussing which cats are most difficult to medicate. Someone asked them, “Is Lester still the worst?” (Imagine my SHOCK at hearing this. So many kitties here at Tabby’s Place and someone thinks I’m the worst!) The answer, thank goodness, was an enthusiastic “No!” It seems I’ve improved greatly in this area. They say I’m Reformed (with a capital R). Admittedly, I still fidget and fuss, but it’s a far cry from my “you won’t take me alive!” days.
Am I truly Reformed? Or is it a temporary expression of my good, loving side? Luckily, my health has been great this spring and I haven’t required any medication, so there’s no need to answer those questions just yet 😉
One thing is constant: my deep appreciation for your ongoing love and support. I hope your days are filled with lots of love and light.
Your buddy,
Lester
