Update for Lester

Greetings Lester fans,

You’re stuck with me for another month, as I was asked to fill in again to write about our favorite cat Lester. No problem for me, as I love the little guy.

It was great seeing Lester on a recent visit. It was a busy day at Tabby’s Place, with many volunteers doing their assigned chores. Lester was hanging out in the solarium, sleeping next to Wolfie on a nice heated blanket. It was a cool day, so he and his bud definitely had the right idea.

It didn’t take long to get his interest, though, as Lester cannot resist wand toys. We played for awhile, with Lester showing his superior hunting skills. The snake did not stand a chance. Eventually tiring from catching and chomping on the snake toy, Lester enjoyed a nice head scratch in preparation for winding down for another well deserved nap. He is truly a loving cat that craves attention, yet he didn’t seem to mind at all when Charlie came along and claimed my lap to be his personal territory. I suspect that Lester, the smart cat that he is, cuddled back on his heated blanket shortly after saying our goodbyes.

This month brought some changes to suite FIV. Newcomer Piper (pictured below left) has already been promoted to our super Founder & Executive Director Jonathan’s office. She is a very shy kitty, and had been hiding behind the cubbies all the time in the suite. She is adjusting well to the office, and has been seen snuggling with Knox, even though I’m sure Knox would deny it. She is a very lucky lady!

Like many of his roommates, Lester lost a small bit of weight this month. We’re not worried, as he remains “sturdy.” It’s possible this weight loss is simply due to the excitement of cast changes (Adelaide‘s arrival, Piper’s arrival, Piper’s departure) and the change of seasons (“Let’s all go inside! Let’s go back to the solarium! It’s cold! It’s warm!”). But, we’ll monitor the crew closely. Otherwise, Lester’s enjoyed a healthy and mellow month.

Thank you, fabulous sponsors, for caring for our boy Lester, and for your continued support. We could not do it without you, and your generosity is very much appreciated.
