Welcome to Novemeber, Anastasia fans & friends!
My name is Jen, and, as Resident Sanctuary Associate and Development Assistant, I’ll be corresponding for our dear Ana this month. Liz, Ana’s longtime correspondent, has gone on to pursue further education, and so she bids a fond farewell to Ana’s faithful sponsors.
Anastasia continues to do well medically. Even after we decreased her steroid dosage, Anastasia’s weight actually increased! Currently, she is holding her weight, and that is great news! Cross your fingers that her good fortune on the lower steroid dose continues from here. Long term steroid use is never good, so we are hoping Ana remains healthy and happy on this lower dose.
I think it’s mostly due to the up and down weather of the fall, but it has been a lot harder to predict where Anastasia will be when you visit her suite nowadays. Sometimes she’s just trying desperately to be in two different places at once – running back and forth through the tube connecting the inside suite and her outside solarium – when it comes time for feeding. This obviously greatly affects who she is hanging out with during the day.
It seems that Beatrice is now the only cat who is always outside, refusing to come in even to get her meal faster.
With November beginning, it is hard to deny that the days will tick by quickly as they always seem to do this time of year. Thanksgiving will soon be here and then the holidays. Let me take this chance to say thank you for your continued support for Anastasia. She is doing beautifully and that is thanks, in great part, to your kindness!
