Greetings Anastasia Adorers,
I’m Liz, and I am thrilled to be Anastasia’s new correspondent! I have been visiting with Ana and her suitemates for the past month, and we’re slowly becoming good friends.
Ana and her gang were all a little shy upon meeting me–except for Disco. I was immediately overwhelmed by Disco’s enthusiasm and willingness to play. However, Ana made it clear that his presence, and his childish games, were not tolerated.
On my second week visiting with Ana, I was still unsure of her personality and did my best to woo her by slowly scratching behind her ears. She immediately revved up her helicopter-like purr, and we were in the midst of a real bonding moment.
Disco, however, wanted some quality ear scratching as well, and greedily pushed his head under my hand. Ana, without missing a beat, swatted Disco away as though he were a pesky fly at her picnic. Disco disappeared to a corner, and as Ana and I resumed our ear massage session, I felt our friendship blossoming.
To the entire suite’s delight, Disco was adopted a few weeks ago. Though they will miss their cross-eyed companion, the atmosphere is a little more laid-back without him in the room. In fact, the last time I went to visit, all four kitties were curled up next to each other on their big couch!
I’ve also noticed that Desi and Venice, who used to hide from me when Disco was around, are now eager to come out and investigate. I think that Ana has been spreading the word that I give great ear rubs, and now even little Star is interested!
In health news, Ana has had a great month and has been holding steady at her weight. This good news means that her steroid dosage will be decreased, which will lead to better overall health. Her buddy Desi is doing fantastic, too.
Ana and I are looking forward to enjoying a healthy fall, filled with lots of snuggling, purring, and watching the leaves change.
All the best,
Liz
