Autumn is here! Desi and I are in hopes we can carve a pumpkin, but I’m thinking no one here will provide me with a knife. C’mon, do I look dangerous’ Really!
Plus, I have to get a pumpkin first.
Desi thinks I’m splitting hairs though, pacing back and forth saying, “Ana, Ana, Ana, you just don’t get it…”
“What’” I ask, “What already’”
“Here you are all excited about the fall. Okay, yes – it IS beautiful, the leaves are fun to watch fall down, we’re all cozy up here at Tabby’s Place listening to the rustling wind, and you’re running around trying to find a pumpkin and knife…”
“And candle don’t forget, we have to get a candle, then turn off the lights!” I replied.
“Ana!…” Desi yelled.
“What’ What’”
“Oh.”
“Look,” I replied, reassurring Desi with a lick on the forehead, “I am no idiot.”
“Yea’” he asked, “How so’ With your…’Jack-o-Kitty’ insanity…”
“At least I’m smarter than a dog.”
“A dog’”
“Yea, we’re smarter than dogs! Winter’s coming, too, you know, and no one’s going to get 8 cats to pull a sled. So there, plthththththth!…”
I kneaded my blanket and circled round to find just the right spot to curl up. Desi just sat there, with this deer-in-headlights expression.
“Trick or treazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…..” I muttered, and fell asleep.
“Indeed, indeed,” Desi replied, as he did the same.
