Update for Tux

Dear Friend of Tux,

As Tux begins to brush up his formal attire (in preparation for New Year celebrations), he couldn’t help but think of you. In a year filled with celebrations at Tabby’s Place, Tux wants you to know that he celebrates your love every day of the year. Your loving heart keeps his dinner plate full and his heart healthy.

Speaking of healthy hearts, Tux wanted you to know that during his echocardiogram a few weeks ago, the veterinarian told him that his mild heart disease had remained so stable over the last year that he could now go to once-a-year checks. This news is most certainly cause for celebration and reason to brush up one’s best tuxedo!

My office at Tabby’s Place is looking particularly festive right now as it was decorated in honor of my 7th anniversary of joining the staff. The decorations are black, white, and gold and remind me of Tux. He’s black and white and a charming golden bachelor if ever I saw one. Tux and I share our anniversary year as he arrived at Tabby’s Place just a few months before I joined the staff. Together, Tux and I have watched a great deal happen in those seven years of growth and transformation.

Like any dignified gentleman, Tux does his best to age with grace. He takes longer naps, eats smaller meals, and prefers to look away from drama. But Tux makes sure to keep his muscles strong and flexible by never passing up an opportunity for a good stretch on a scratching post.

Tux did endure a round of constipation in late November. The medical team stepped in with some warm water assistance, and Tux was soon feeling relief. Tux has a reputation for purring through these treatments. Even in the awkward moments, Tux remains dignified as is only fitting for his festive attire.

As 2023 comes to a close, Tux and I are raising our glasses to you, dear friend. Here’s to another year of all things that bring you joy, whether that be fishy fillets or cozy blankets. Know that Tux loves you and wishes you a beautiful New Year!
