Update for Rose

Dear Fans of Rose,

Hi y’all, and welcome to March.  Do you know the expression, “March comes in like a lion, out like a lamb?” Well, when I was a li’l itty bitty kitty, I heard the elder cats use this expression.  Now that I am a grown-up kitty, I understand what it means.  March starts off with cold weather and ends with warmer…  spring weather.

This means that the weather will be ideal for stroller rides (I just had an amazing March stroller ride), breathing in the fresh air, and feeling the sun kiss my furry face.  Like humans, cats get cabin fever during the winter months when it is too cold for stroller rides and days in the solarium.  My correspondent calls me a “beach baby” because I love to soak in the sun.  Sometimes when I am laying on a lobby chair in my diapie, I pretend that I am at the beach wearing a bikini bottom, listening to the ocean waves.  Just around the corner, I can sense colorful flowers starting to bloom and plush green leaves starting to cover branches.

When I was a youngin’ the elder cats would take turns giving bedtime stories to the litters of us kittens.  Sometimes we would even get a snack of tuna before storytime—I love me some tuna!  I took a shine to the “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” story.  My new nickname is “Rosilocks” because it takes several varieties of cat foods before I find the right one for my kitty palate.  Recently, my correspondent helped with the dinner feeding and gave me a variety of flavors to try, a cat fantasy buffet!  Please don’t tell, but I enjoyed all the dishes of food!  I might get a bit finicky with food but not with my love and appreciation for your generosity as my sponsor.  Thank you!

When the weather gets warmer, I do declare that more visitors drop off donations at the front door.  I salivate at the varieties of cat food that are donated, and pledge to try them all!  We just received some neat scratcher toys and cube boxes, and Cotton and I can’t wait to play with them.  The lobby has so many fun things to play with and, of course, places to nap.  I alternate between the chairs and the cat beds located throughout the lobby.  A day would not be complete without a climbing activity, which is usually the reception desk, which I refer to as Mt. Reception.  I so enjoy my evening bottom bath.  I feel so happy and clean from my visit to the “Tabby’s Place Spa.”  Shortly after my bath, I usually head to Suite A for a slumber party with my pals.

I cannot sing the praises enough of all the wonderful staff and volunteers at Tabby’s Place.  You can literally feel the positivity in the air.  I was so flattered when I learned that one of the staff member’s young sons (who is a talented artist!) created a picture of yours truly.  The picture was framed and is hanging in the lobby.  I must say it is a splendid likeness of this li’l ol’ southern black-and-white kitty.  Please let me know what you think, and when the world is right-side up y’all can tell me in person when you visit me at Tabby’s Place.

I have some very sad news to share.  I consider you to be family and I need an extra shoulder to lean on.  Mary, my best friend, who I have known the longest at Tabby’s Place recently passed away.  She was truly a li’l gray furry angel, and I (and all the Suite A cats) miss her every day.  I am so fortunate that I was given a second residency in Suite A, because Mary and I got to spend time together, again.  Run free my sweet friend.

My health report is moving in the right direction.  At the beginning of the month, I had bloodwork, and it showed that I am in good health—yay!  I am continuing my medication for that pesky, resistant urinary tract infection, and as always, I am in good positive Rose spirits.  My correspondent said that my eyes sparkle.

Enjoy the coming of spring and the holidays you celebrate this month, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and Passover.  Sending you spring-like whisker kisses!

Love,
Rose
