What an amazing fall we are having, with 70-80 degree days and cooler (but not cold) nights. Newman and all the Tabby’s Place kitties are enjoying the continued warmth and sunshine showered upon them each day.
Newman was yawning when I visited him and all the FIV guys and gals. In fact, just about all his suite-mates were happily curled up and snoozing. Almost all. On the other hand, gregarious and pumpkin colored Dre was saying me, me, ME!!!! Of course, his wishes were very happily indulged. He is a sweet boy with a huge personality. Newman wasn’t even a tad jealous. He was just too tired. The solarium was getting a thorough scrub down, so it was time to make the best of the ‘indoors time’ and snooze.
While our happy-hearted guy Newman has always gotten along well with his roomies, never before has he been so tightly bonded to a single feline. This fall, it’s rare to see Newman not cuddled up with Buddy. If Newman is the Skipper, Buddy is undoubtedly his devoted “little buddy” Gilligan. It’s beyond adorable to see how Buddy looks up to Newman, following and adoring him. The photo above is of Buddy tucked under the ramp to go to the great outdoors. He didn’t want to risk one of those pesky volunteers getting in the way of his nap! However, I did get many smiles from him as I encouraged him to venture out of his cave. Maybe next time.
Medically, Newman has had a mercifully “boring” month. We continue to monitor his weight, which has fluctuated up and down only slightly this month.
