Update for Jude

Dear Jude friends,

Jude has had a fairly uneventful month, which is a good thing for Jude.

She has had minimal focal seizures, which is a huge improvement from last month, where she was having them most of the time. She did have one grand mal seizure this month. I gave her the rescue medicine, which stopped the seizure quickly, then I held her for a while until I knew she was okay. She quickly returned to normal and wanted to eat her dinner. I am very happy with the improvements I have seen this month, and hope she continues down this road. The loss of Charlie hit her hard, but she seems much better now.

We did take in another senior cat who needed a home, another permanent foster from Tabby’s Place, Norman. Norman has cancer that has spread to his chest, and there’s nothing that can be done. They gave him 3 months to live, so I brought him home. Jude liked him right away. He’s very mellow and easygoing, and Jude likes that. Norman laid in a cat bed, and Jude scooted over to lay on the edge of his bed. It was very heartwarming to see her do that.

Jude had also been getting along with Castiel well. They have been hanging out together on the dog bed a lot. She is finally allowing some cats to be her friend. Jude has always liked the dogs, and lately, she has been laying with her back paws on Accalia. She used to do this to her friend, Charlie, all the time.

Jude hates to be touched and growls at us when we try, but lately, she had been enjoying ear rubs, and has even been leaning into the rubs and actually enjoying it! It makes me so happy!

It was Jude’s birthday on November 1st, she’s one year old already! She got some new crinkle balls and some extra treats that day. We sang happy birthday to her, but she didn’t seem impressed.

I can’t believe little Jude is one year old already. It seems like just yesterday she was a tiny baby. She has come a long way in the last year. There were times I was concerned she wouldn’t make it, but she is a strong girl, with a big will to survive. I don’t know what I would do without her now—I love my little, feisty girl.

As I am writing this Jude just let me know it’s time for her to go to bed. Every night, around 8:30, she is suddenly done with everything and wants to go to her playpen, and be alone for the night. She loves her playpen, and I think she really needs that alone time, and she seems to enjoy the quiet of her pen. I think all the stimulation of the day eventually gets to her, and she has to get away from it. If I am ever late putting her in her playpen, she gets really grumpy and starts scooting around growling at everyone.

Jude is in her pen for the night now, and she’s very happy. She had a nice comfy bed, her litter pan, dry food, wet food, water, and treats. She will eat for a while, then she’ll settle down and go to sleep.

That’s all the Jude news for now. Thank you all for your continued support of Jude. She needs so much, and she always will. We couldn’t do it without you.
