Dear Colleen Supporters,
So what has Colleen be up to lately?
Well, based on pure observation, it seems to me, Colleen has the perfect life. She sleeps and she eats. She enjoys the sunshine. She wanders around the lobby, and she takes in the sights. She spies on the other cats. She hops into the boss’ office when she wants to eavesdrop and listen into a bit of gossip or curl herself into a cozy cat bed.
Whenever I see her, she sticks like glue to me, enjoying every minute as I pet her. I never saw a cat so appreciate human touch. The other day the sun was shining sunny and warm. Colleen and I were propped in the main doorway. She was leaning against me and I guess I was leaning against her. We were both feeling a bit drowsy. I could hear her gently purr. It felt good to relax for a few minutes on a Friday morning while everyone else buzzed around us.
When I had to leave her to return to work, I tried to pick her up to put her back where I had found her–near the food bowls–but she refused to budge, and ended up falling asleep on the comfy sofa.
At other times I’ve found Colleen snuggled contentedly in the cutest cat bed underneath the desk area. It’s a great place to hide out when you want to sleep. And dream. Of the sun, of course. At Tabby’s Place we’re all convinced that Colleen is either in the sun, when it’s available, or dreaming of the sun, when it’s not out. It must be a necessary ingredient in her personality.
On the medical front, the medication used to treat Colleen’s anemia has been working well and caused her anemia to improve dramatically, but when the dosage was decreased, the anemia worsened–a puzzling piece of Colleen’s medical picture. In addition, Colleen has been taking an anti-convulsant to help her stop her facial pawing. Although she’s gained some weight, the medication has not overly sedated her, as was feared. But this doesn’t mean that Colleen needs to cut out any sunbathing. No sirree.
As always, we thank you for your generosity to Tabby’s Place.
