Mervyn

As one of our FIV+ cats, Mervyn is a Special Needs feline. He’s immediately recognizable because of his very narrow face and eyes (they look a little crossed, but as far as we know his vision isn’t much affected). Mervyn is largely a gray tabby, with white feet, a white chest, and white muzzle. When he was brought to us, Mervyn had entropion, a condition where a cat’s eyelids start growing inwards. We operated to correct this, and he’s fine now.

Mervyn was born sometime in 2005, according to our best estimate. He is quite timid with people, though he’s made considerable progress on that front. Because of this, he MUST go to a home WITHOUT small children. We know Mervyn lived with both dogs and cats in a foster home. He ignored the dogs, but his foster-parent noted that “he comes alive when cats are nearby”.

We know that Mervyn loves to play with hairbands and wand toys. Any adopter will need a great deal of patience to bring him out of his shell, but we’re confident that he will come around in the long term. If you have an FIV+ cat now and are looking for a companion feline, consider our Mervyn.
