Hawkeye

Although Hawkeye is fully grown (we estimate he was born early in 2006), he’s quite small—especially in comparison to some of the goliath felines we have at Tabby’s Place. What he lacks in size, however, he makes up for in volume. Without question, he’s our loudest cat, but he only talks when you’re not actively paying attention to him. Once you start petting him, he’s silent, except for his big purr. Hawkeye is quite needy. Sit down, and he’ll be in your lap; if he decides that’s not sufficient, he’ll climb your chest with his front paws and head-butt your chin (alternatively, he’ll climb onto your shoulder and rub his head on yours). Hawkeye is almost all black, except for a white spot on his chin and another on his chest.

Based on what we’ve learned from Hawkeye’s previous foster parent, we know he has had a chronic bowel issue since at least the fall of 2008. We are working to determine exactly why this might be. Meantime, he’s on a prescription diet and oral medication.(We’ll let you know as soon as we find out.)

We know Hawkeye lived with another cat before he came to us. He seems to do well around other felines, though they can sometimes get annoyed with him for trying to hog all the human attention. Stay tuned for more updates on this sweet boy!
